WHAT A SHAME - An excellent service let down by the delivery organizationI needed to get a pair of good quality wellingtons for my son in time for Christmas but realised that it was getting late. An internet search showed that "Easy Wellies" gave an excellent choice over a huge price range and could deliver in time for Christmas. I did a quick price comparison and found "Easy Wellies" offered excellent value so I placed an order on 13 December.Everything went well - very efficient emails keeping me up to date with the progress of my order and telling me that it was on its way via "UPS". TheUPS tracking gave an impressive, almost minute by minute, timing of my delivery. However at this point doubts were triggered by a previous experience with them.Being conscious that my address can cause delivery problems I added a comment to my order: "Delivery - NB 57 (my cottage No.) is on even side at junction with Green End Road" and was pleased to see that this was noted on the "Easy Wellies" acknowledgement. 14 December , delivery day arrived - NOTHING! Tracked "UPS" again only to see that the driver claimed he had tried delivery at 2.15 p.m. but no reply & he'd left card to say will try again next Monday 17th.Now! This exactly duplicates a previous "UPS" failure to deliver goods to me in September. Both times my wife and I were in at the time claimed and, as it happened, were in our sitting room which has a glazed front door giving a clear view of the arrival of any post or delivery people. I knew from the previous experience that disputing this with "UPS" would be a waste of time - the delivery driver stuck to his story and "UPS" backed him and refused to take responsibilty until the person who arranged for the goods before threatened serious action. Armed with the knowledge of the previous experience I still spent a great deal of time relaying all of this to their "Customer Service" who even then failed to make promised phone calls to update me!This raises several questions:Were "UPS" informed of my special delivery instructions? If so, did "UPS" give this informatiuon to the driver? If not, do their drivers habitually leave delivery notes with any old address to cover themselves? Other delivery organizations supply phones enabling their drivers to ring thehome owner if they can't find an address. Has this never occured to "UPS"?They urgently need to examine their system to give a better service. The best and most efficient tracking system in the world is useless if the goods DO NOT GET DELIVERED TO THE RIGHT ADDRESSAs I said at the start: "What a shame!" A superb service from "Easy Wellies" has been damaged by poor delivery. if this was my business and I was the retailer I'd want some answers.
